♬Jazz in the spotlight. From 17 to 20 May 2023, the artists of the Jazz en Comminges festival will enliven the town. Let’s go for 4 days of concerts.

The IN programme at Le Parc des Expositions du Comminges is organised in the evening, while the OFF Festival concerts will take place in the centre of Saint-Gaudens, at Le Cube (2 place du Foirail) and the Théâtre Marmignon (place H Ducos).
International musicians are on stage during a concert. These talented musicians and singers make jazz sound in the city during 3 evenings and 4 days.

FIONA MONBET QUINTET
With her latest creation Maelström, the Franco-Irish violinist, composer and conductor Fiona Monbet invites the audience to a powerful whirlwind through her abundant musical universe
DEE DEE BRIDGEWATER & THE AMAZING KEYSTONE BIG BAND
The bubbling Amazing Keystone Big Band, which expresses both the spirit and soul of the great bands of the swing era and the inventiveness, openness and insolent virtuosity of today’s jazz, will share the stage with the great lady of jazz Dee Dee Bridgewater.
LOUIS MARTINEZ SEXTET
The “Influences” project was born in 2017, at the initiative of guitarist and composer Louis Martinez, during the recording of the album “Thème pour Mike”. A jazz guitarist with a rare sensitivity, he brings around him a solid rhythm with which he has been collaborating for several years to explore a new facet of his inspirations: song.
MARCUS MILLER
Multi-instrumentalist, creator, producer and composer extraordinaire, Marcus Miller is one of today’s greatest names. From Miles Davis’ “Tutu” to Claude Nougaro’s “Nougayork”, Marcus Miller has always interjected his bass into everything that grooves. The New York bass virtuoso has mastered this sense of rhythm to perfection. And each of his concerts confirms that he belongs in the pantheon of five-star electric bassists.
BROOKLYN FUNK ESSENTIALS
A concert with an irresistible groove. Brooklyn Funk Essentials is a group of musicians from all over the world who blend jazz, funk, soul, ska, disco, house and rap. Since its founding, the band has navigated its love of jazz and new influences with an inimitable groove. Their experience in the New York club scene has made them a formidable dance machine.
KENNY GARRETT QUINTET
Furious and funky, capable of magnifying the most cerebral bebop as well as the sweetest jazz, Kenny Garrett is above all an ode to freedom, known for his breathtaking improvisations. He and his quintet offer a frantic and bewitching live performance, capable of both exuberance and great spirituality.
And Garrett’s other great strength is to have imposed his compositions with multiple influences, oriental and more recently Caribbean, which ultimately say much more than his impressive technique.
ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ TRIO
Over the past decade, Alfredo Rodriguez, a young Cuban artist, has risen to the status of a recognized musician with Grammy Award nominations for three critically acclaimed albums released by Mack Avenue Records, Sounds of Space (2011), The Invasion Parade (2014), Tocororo (2016) and The Little Dream (2018).
MONTY ALEXANDER 6TET
It is also an opportunity for the man who has recorded 75 albums on the piano to fulfil a 50-year-old dream: to sing. In this unique evening, Monty Alexander will mix Monk classics, performed with leading guests, with his childhood favourites, and with songs that he has always loved.
The favourite songs of his childhood, the ones that remind him of the heady smell of
the intoxicating smell of jasmine that enveloped his school holidays in the paradise bay of Montego.

A free shuttle bus will serve the route between the city centre and le Parc des Expositions du Comminges.
Shuttle bus « Movigo » free of charge every evening of the concerts:
Saint-Gaudens, city centre departure every 20 minutes: Boulevard Charles de Gaulle (from 6.15pm to 9pm).
Parc des expositions du Comminges : departure every 20 minutes at the end of the concerts.
