The Régades climbing crag, a first for our region! A few months ago, the Club Alpin Français du Comminges and the Comité Territorial de la Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade Haute-Garonne et Gers approached the commune of Régades and the Communauté de Communes with a project to build a natural climbing wall in the commune's old quarry. This practice is fully in line with our regional project: after the installation of the first indoor artificial walls in Saint-Gaudens, this public facility on a natural wall will complete our tourist offer in terms of climbing sports, accessible to all. The Comité Territorial was responsible for equipping the natural site, while the technical services of the Communauté de Communes took part in the development and clean-up work. The Service Départemental d'Incendie et de Secours de Saint-Gaudens also helped clean up the rock. The new facility is now up and running, with free access for all climbing enthusiasts. It will also be open to sports associations affiliated to the Fédération Française de Montagne et de l'Escalade (French Mountaineering and Climbing Federation), as well as to schools and colleges, which will be able to use it as part of their Outdoor Physical Activities (APPN) curriculum.
