ferme de la monge

La Monge is a small organic food farm located at the gateway to the Comminges region.

François breeds Bretonne Pie Noir cows (a conservation breed) and Alpine and Poitevin goats. His aim is to put ethics at the heart of our project by including the principles of permaculture and animal welfare. The animals are monitored and cared for according to the principles of homeopathy, phytotherapy and aromatherapy. The young are raised with their mothers, unless there are problems at birth, and the placement of surplus animals is encouraged as far as possible. The farm is deliberately modest in size in order to limit mechanisation, promote voluntary simplicity and in-depth knowledge of our environment. The aim is to give meaning back to our food and to keep alive the ancient knowledge linked to nature. The farm also has an educational component, offering animal mediation and welcoming groups and people in transition. Production: cow's milk and goat's milk cheese and yoghurt; meat parcels (veal and beef). Sales at the farm, at the L'Isle-en-Dodon market on Saturday mornings, group deliveries to the Toulouse region every fortnight, delivery possible to L'Isle-en-Dodon and neighbouring towns.
